Mature woodland, invigorating mornings and a crispness in the air are just some of the joys that autumn brings in County Kerry. Autumn is an ideal time for families, groups and couples to plan a short getaway to Kerry.

Autumn time is one of the most beautiful times of year to take in the beautiful scenery that Tralee and the county of Kerry have to offer. The Grand Hotel is one of the most perfect bases to spend an autumn break. That is because of our town centre location, while also being within proximity to some of Tralee’s most prominent sites.

Here’s some great things to do during your stay in Kerry over the Autumn:

Mountain Climbing & Hiking

There are endless options in County Kerry for Mountain climbs & hikes, with the fresh, breezy Autumn weather making it an ideal time to have an exhilarating adventure.  Kerry is home to Carrauntoohil and the McGillycuddy’s Reeks, the highest mountain range in Ireland which rises to a height of over 1000 metres.

Scenic Sightseeing

From rugged coastlines to charming villages, bustling towns all bursting with history and culture; Kerry has it all for sightseeing. The most popular driving route, is the famous Ring of Kerry, 179km circular route around the Iveragh Peninsula. The great thing about road trips is you can go at your own pace and even go off the beaten track to some of the hidden spots!

 Stunning Beach Walks

You’ll never tire of the breezy beach walk available to you. Kerry is also home to some of the most stunning and picturesque beaches in Ireland & the world. Rossbeigh beach is a 6 km long, sandy beach with spectacular views over beautiful Dingle Bay and it is one of the best beaches in the area. There are a long list of beaches to choose from, such as Banna Beach, Fenit and Inch Beach to name but a few!

Great welcome for the start of our Kerry Camino!

""The Grand Hotel in the centre of Tralee a real jewel. From the great welcome, assistance with luggage and parking on arrival, to excellent room and beds and great food in the bar and restaurant. And special mention for the breakfast. Both smoked haddock and plaice as options! Without exception every member of staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. And also shared their local knowledge to help us out with the first leg of our Camino.""

The hotel and staff were excellent - a really great start to our sojourn in beautiful Kerry. The rooms were excellent; the staff friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was to a very high standard. We'll be back!""
